Romania and the obligation to produce energy will not occur for a few years. So here, in south-eastern Europe, the Russians have a window of opportunity to create a framework that can withstand the coming winter. Russians can not live without Ukraine. Russians can not take Romania, being in NATO. With or without the Americans, the Russians are not strong enough for that. What I can do is manipulate, undermine, confuse and deviate from this plan. They need to undermine the Entente alliance with the United States, and are skilled at political maneuvering required to do this. For many in Romania, Russia is close and strong, America is too far away and is indecisive. This was pointed out in my presence at a meeting with a Romanian diplomat careers. I replied: "In the 20th century, the United States won three wars in Europe. Romania is in NATO, and this feels good; Thank goodness I had 20 years to make this wise move; History is usually once a millennium, and we daoa occasion. 

You can only change alliances but we hope that the best will win, something that both sides need to consider.
