I've been a fan of Anca Caliman's comfort food cooking since she and her partners first opened Lemon Poppy Kitchen. Her Romanian inspired dishes there were always delicious and I am a particular fan of her feta-dill plachinta and anything with polenta.
When I discovered that she and Arecely Flores had opened Parsnip, I couldn't wait to get in the door.
My first time in was with neighbors always in the lookout for good food and we weren't disappointed. We ordered the one homemade soup on the menu, dumplings---bulz, a Lucious salad, the red red braise with polenta. Major deliciousness. I returned the next day for a take out of the chicken paprikash with polenta.
As I do with Lemon Poppy kitchen I will return often. I will have tried everything on the menu in about two weeks time.
It's a small place and is constantly busy from opening to closing. The wait was not too long and well worth it.- Ed H.

Delicious food that's a great addition to the area. You certainly won't find Romanian food in many locations! I really came here to try the cabbage rolls as I'm such a fanatic about it them in general and they certainly did not disappoint. The dish came with 3 cabbage rolls topped with sauerkraut and sour cream. Flavor was great and could've kept eating more.
I love the casual vibe this place has and the outdoor seating on the side for a nice night. Outdoors area is dog friendly too- Ernesto L.

Wow
Amazing food made with love .
I'm very happy this place opened in our neighborhood- 1 check-in
What an amazing little restaurant just outside of the hustle and bustle of Highland Park's York Ave!!!! I was scared that a Romanian restaurant will not have any option for those of use who cannot eat goulash because of the meat content but I was wrong. I ended up getting the Romanian salad with beets, feta, beans and cauliflower; the savory Gomboti dumpling and the meaty wrap. We also tried their amazing version of Jamaica which is simply amazing! Everything here is delicious and they allow you to BYOB. And the people who work here are super sweet. Special shout out to the lady who makes the Jamaica and is so welcoming to the patrons!- will h.

Eric, if you're reading this, you have to come here. This place is the healthiest, most delicious, and best for your wallet it can get on York. The flatbreads are amazing, and the beef goulash with barley is hearty. I wouldn't mind coming here at least once a week. Be sure to get one than one dish to share.- Nikholys S.

Flavorful, welcoming, cozy. A great addition to LA's dining scene. We found the place as being a great new spot on York. Food is delicious and made with healthy conscious in mind. The chef, which owns another great restaurant in Eagle Rock, was there preparing food on the spot.- Bebe B.

We tried an order of the flatbread and dip, a dumpling and the goulash with red wine sauce. It was all amazing! The goulash on the barley was perfect. Can't wait to eat here again. They don't sell no booze here so byob. It's a small casual place where you order at counter and they bring you your food. There is a side covered patio, two tables inside and one table on the sidewalk. They checked on us a few times and were very nice.

Delicious homemade with fresh ingredients and love! Friendly and speedy service. Vegan options. I had the polenta dumplings, parsnip carrot soup and Romanian chopped salad. So good! And such generous portions. I'm looking forward to leftover chopped salad for lunch tomorrow. And to returning soon to try other dishes! Welcome to the neighborhood Parsnip!- Anon ..

I am so into this place! I had no idea what to expect but the food is GOOD. I rarely go out of my way to eat vegetables, but this is an exception. The salads are amazing! Fresh flatbread! Delish dips! Spicy pickles! I'm so excited to have a healthy, homey, friendly new restaurant in the neighborhood.
If you haven't stopped by, it's really worth the trip. The space is adorable and you can watch your food being made with love. You won't be disappointed!- Lorri E.

Believe the hype. Fresh, flavorful, made from scratch. Everything we ordered was delicious. Particularly recommend the carrot parsnip soup which was thick flavorful and filling. Also the eggplant dip was so good. Many vegetarian options, pleasant atmosphere and staff.- Elizabeth F.

Never had this kind of food before and I'm so glad I tried it! Totally different from what you typically find on York Blvd. I love the fact they have vegetarian/vegan options. The food is very tasty with a great combination of flavors. Think outside the box and try it, you won't regret it!
