Social Security Can Be Stronger. - And So Do The Majority Of Women's Lives Has to Improve in CALIFORNIA

Women remain at a disadvantage when it comes to receiving equal pay for equal work. This was absurd in the 1960’s, and isbeyond absurd in 2014. This inequity puts women behind on earnings for their whole careers—and since Social Security benefits reflect one’s earnings, it means that women fall behind there, too.This isn’t fair, and it’s time to address this disparity at its root—by closing the gender pay gap.Join us in calling on Congress to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act and make Social Security fair for us all!

The Paycheck Fairness Act, sponsored by Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) closes loopholes in the 51-year-old Equal Pay Act and strengthens protections for women who believe they are being discriminated against.
