Social Security Works has released new polling data that shows tremendous support among likely voters for expanding Social Security benefits in a national sample.
The polls demonstrate support across red, blue and purple states and among Independents, Republicans and Democrats. This polling also shows potential huge benefits and perilous risks for candidates on Social Security.

Most pundits are giving the Republicans a better-than-50% chance of taking over the Senate this fall. If that happens, Social Security could face a renewed attack.

Last month, many of you stepped up and signed on to support Social Security. You know that privatizing Social Security would leave seniors vulnerable to the ups and downs of Wall Street. We can’t take that kind of chance with our seniors’ retirement security.
