Premier organization serving LA’s most underprivileged children seeks experienced Grants Manager for our more than $3 million grant application and reporting effort.
The Grants Manager will be responsible for researching, developing, writing, and submitting funding proposals to grant-makers such as foundations, corporations, and other philanthropic organizations to persuasively communicate the mission of the organization and obtain financial support. He/she will collaborate regularly with Department Directors and staff to develop the most effective proposals and reporting strategies.
The Grants Manager will ensure that grant proposals move expeditiously through the proposal development process focusing on timeliness, quality, consistency, and compliance with the application rules. She/he will manage existing grants by tracking grants; developing internal reporting systems; writing reports; maintaining excellent historical records and working with staff to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations.
Bachelor’s degree required, higher degree preferred
Excellent writing ability including proofreading and editing skills
Ability to understand organizational and program budgets for grants
Effective organizational skills and the ability to follow through on detailed projects
Ability to work with minimal oversight to manage deadlines and due dates
Understanding of grant research skills including Guidestar and the Foundation Center Directory
Proficiency in office computer programs including Word, Excel, and Raiser’s Edge Database experience preferred
Detail oriented; strong analytical and research skills using online sources and databases; able to seek and synthesize information
